New Member Information
Thank you for your interest in joining the Junior Service League of St. Augustine! We are routinely seeking enthusiastic new members to join our league of community volunteers. We are over 80 years strong and remain committed to serving the St. Johns County area. If you are interested in joining, a great first step is to attend one our our annual events.
A candidate considered eligible for provisional membership shall be at least 25 years of age and reside within a 45-mile radius of St. Augustine.
New members to the JSL are considered provisional members for the first nine months. After completing orientation, training, and service hours, provisional members transition to active members. After five years of active service to the League, members are eligible to transition to Active Sustainer status. Active Sustainers continue to support the mission of the League, but with fewer obligations.
We start looking for our new class the fall of each year. Deadline for applications is October. The new (provisional) class begins in January.
Members are expected to...
- Perform 60 hours of service to the JSL and its service projects.
- They are required to be positive, congenial, and ready to serve their community.
- They must pay dues, attend monthly meetings, and work the mandatory events set by the League.
